Philadelphia -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has honored wetlands scientist Ralph Spagnolo of Ardmore with its Instructor of the Year Award.
Spagnolo, who has been at the EPA for seven years, teachers basic and advanced wetlands training, wetlands plant identification and wetlands hydrology.
This annual award is given to an EPA employee for exceptional dedication and effectiveness in the training of fellow employees.
"Ralph embraces all the required attributes of an artful and devoted teacher: knowledge of your subject matter, passion for teaching and commitment to his students. Students give him rave reviews and are eager to sign up for his next class, said W. Michael McCabe, EPA mid-Atlantic regional administrator.
