Media Advisory: Million-dollar partnership to increase fuel economy and cut emissions

WHAT: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the University of Toledo will announce a three-year cooperative agreement worth about $1 million to improve and optimize hydraulic hybrid vehicle components to maximize fuel economy benefits and minimize emissions. EPA will contribute up to $450,000 toward the agreement.
WHO: Rep. Marcy Kaptur, 9th District of Ohio; Christopher Grundler, deputy director of EPA's Office of Transportation and Air Quality; and Dan Johnson, president of the University of Toledo.

A demonstration of an EPA hydraulic hybrid truck will follow the event.
