MEDIA ADVISORY: MCCOLL SUPERFUND SITE GOES GREEN

Media Tour Scheduled for August 27th
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will hold a press event at the McColl Superfund Site in Fullerton on Thursday, August 27th at 9 a.m. to commemorate completion of a waste containment system on over 100,000 cubic yards of hazardous waste and to showcase a section of golf course that has been expanded onto the site. The golf course will be managed as a wildlife sanctuary, including enhanced habitats for native and migratory birds. The golf course operators are part of the Audubon Sanctuary Program and leaders in a program for environmental practices in golf course management.
Officials of the U.S. EPA, Congressman Ed Royce, the Los Coyotes Country Club and the McColl Site Group will provide a short tour of the site. Opportunities will be provided to ask questions.

LOCATION: McColl Superfund Site Fullerton, Calif. 2650 W. Rosecrans Intersection of W. Rosecrans & Sunnyridge
Directions: Cross street is Beach St. Go east on W. Rosecrans past the Ralph Clark Regional County Park. The McColl site is up the hill and on the right. Continue along Rosecrans to the end of the site and turn right on Sunnyridge. Park on Sunnyridge. Enter thru gate at the corner. Please wear sturdy, comfortable shoes, appropriate for walking on the golf course.
