EPA CO-SPONSORS BROWNFIELDS CONFERENCE
EPA is co-sponsoring the Brownfields ‘97 conference being held on Sept. 3-5, in Kansas City, Mo. The other co-sponsors of this conference currently include the International City/County Management Association and the city of Kansas City, Mo. Last year’s Brownfields ‘96 conference in Pittsburgh, Pa., attracted over 1,000 participants including financiers, community representatives, local government officials, state and local officials, the business community, real estate investors and environmentalists. The diversity of participants emphasized the importance of the many issues that are part of brownfields cleanup and redevelopment. Brownfields ‘97 will be a critical avenue to bringing together a wide range of stakeholders to foster effective partnerships that facilitate the revitalization of contaminated properties.
