U.S. EPA holds public meeting on Valley Wood Superfund site

SAN FRANCISCO – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public meeting to explain the proposed cleanup plan for contaminated groundwater cleanup at the Valley Wood Preserving Superfund Site located in Turlock, Calif on Tues. Feb. 13 at 7 p.m..
The plan proposes a preferred cleanup plan for addressing residual groundwater contamination at the site. This proposal is for the final stage of cleanup at the site. Previous cleanup actions have addressed contaminated soil and groundwater.
The public is encouraged to review and comment the proposed plan during the 30 day public review period. The plan can be reviewed at the Stanislaus County Library, Turlock Branch at 550 Minaret Avenue.

Media Availability: U.S. EPA officials will be available at 6:30 p.m. at the meeting site to answer questions or conduct interviews in advance of the meeting.
