White House to Announce Immediate Response to North Carolina Fish Kill

Washington, DC -- Officials of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Environmental Protection Agency will describe the outlook for new outbreaks this summer of Pfiesteria, red tide and brown tide, and the Administration's coordinated strategy for anticipating and responding to these serious threats to public health and natural resources along U.S. coasts.
In addition, the White House will announce an immediate federal response to the first major outbreak of the season -- a major fish kill in the Neuse River in Eastern North Carolina.
