EPA announces free toxics reporting workshops in Salt Lake City

- Denver -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will be hosting free, toxics reporting workshops for industry on March 24 and April 21 at the Utah Department of Environmental Quality in Salt Lake City.
The one-day workshops are being offered to industrial facilities that are potentially subject to reporting requirements under Section 313 of the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA). Section 313 of EPCRA (also known as the Toxics Release Inventory) requires that annual reports on toxic chemical releases be filed by owners and operators of businesses that 1) fall within the Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) codes listed below; 2) have 10 or more full-time employees; and 3) exceed annual thresholds for specific chemicals being used or manufactured.

The workshops will provide comprehensive information and instruction to businesses (including consulting firms that may be assisting businesses) and government facilities that must complete an EPA Form R – the Toxic Chemical Release Inventory Reporting Form.
EPA encourages facility owners and operators to attend the training to ensure compliance with EPCRA requirements. Registration should be made in advance, either through the Internet at https://www.epa.gov/tri or by fax at (303) 312-6044 by providing your name, company name, address, telephone, e-mail address, and workshop date and location..
The workshops will be held at the Utah Department of Environmental Quality in Room 101 at 168 North, 1950 West, Salt Lake City, Utah.
