EPA Awards Over $100,000 to the Thlopthlocco Tribe

(Dallas, Texas – December 27, 2007) The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has awarded $110,000 to the Thlopthlocco Indian Tribe through the General Assistance Program to manage specific environmental programs and establish a core program for environmental protection. The tribe will use the funds to provide an environmental office, develop geographic information and global positioning systems, address illegal open dumpsites, identify potential environmental hazards, and conduct environmental review and outreach.
