CHICAGO (Oct. 11, 2006) - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Region 5's two-year, $2.3 million cleanup of asbestos-contaminated soil at Minneapolis' Gluek Park is nearly complete.
A briefing will be held at the site Friday, at Oct. 13, 11:30 a.m. State and local officials and community leaders are expected.
The Minneapolis Park District property is at 1927 Marshall St. N.E., along the Mississippi River. The park has been closed since 2003.
Current weather forecasts call for possible rain and/or snow. Please dress appropriately and be prepared to walk on muddy trails.
