Cabinet and Senior Administration Officials to Join President Obama at White House Event Discussing 21st Century Conservation and Recreation Strategy

WASHINGTON – Obama Administration cabinet and senior-level officials will join the president today, February 16, 2011, for a White House event on America’s Great Outdoors. White House Council on Environmental Quality Chair Nancy Sutley, EPA Administrator Lisa P. Jackson, Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack will attend the event. President Obama established the America’s Great Outdoors initiative on April 16, 2010, and charged the secretaries of the departments of the Interior and Agriculture, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, and the chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality to develop a 21st century conservation and recreation strategy based on the priorities of American communities. This event will be broadcast live at http://www.whitehouse.gov/live.
