10 MAUI STUDENT S HONORED FOR ART WITH ENVIRONMENTAL MESSAGE
WHO: U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Hawaii representative Vicki Tsuhako, EPA HQ's Wendy Timmons, Principal Wallace Fujii of Maui's Baldwin High
School, the student who won first prize, art teacher Mrs. Janet Sato, and her Baldwin High art class.
WHAT: EPA representatives will award a student at Maui's Baldwin High School firstprize in EPA's nationwide environmental art contest, out of over 3,000 entries
from across the nation in the Grade 7-12 category. The student's award-winning
art will be on display, along with art work by the14 other Hawaii students named
as finalists, including two fourth-grade students from Kahului Elementary, who
were runners-up in the Grade K-6 category. Ten of the 14 Hawaii honorees are
from Maui. The winning high school student's work will grace the cover of a CD
ROM distributed nationally by EPA.
WHEN: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4.
WHERE: Baldwin High School, 1650 Kahumanu Ave., Wailuku, Maui.
