Updates to the Mitigation Menu Website - Options to Protect Nontarget Species from Pesticide Runoff

EPA updated its mitigation menu website to include all current measures to reduce exposure to nontarget species from pesticide runoff from agricultural uses. The menu provides growers with options for reducing runoff as part of future pesticide labels that implement EPA’s Final Herbicide Strategy from August 2024. Virtual Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee Meeting

EPA is holding a virtual public meeting of the Pesticide Program Dialogue Committee (PPDC) on November 13 and November 14, 2024, from 11:00AM – 5:00PM (EST). The PPDC provides feedback to EPA on pesticide regulatory, policy and program issues and includes representatives from environmental groups, pesticide manufacturers, trade associations, academia and federal and state agencies. EPA Announces Funding Opportunities to Support Farmworker Communities

EPA is announcing three new funding opportunities to support pesticide safety education for farmworkers, training for health care providers to better address pesticide-related illness, and technical assistance to support managing these grants. New Members Appointed to the FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel

EPA has appointed a new chair and two new members and reappointed two current members to serve on the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA) Scientific Advisory Panel (SAP). EPA requested nominations from NIH and NSF to fill vacancies on the FIFRA SAP due to expiring terms. NIH and NSF provided EPA with 39 nominees, of whom 12 were interested and available to participate. A list of all current members and their biographies can be found on the FIFRA SAP website.
