EPA Publishes Corrections to the New CCR Regulations

On October 31, 2024, the EPA Administrator signed a direct final rule and companion proposed rule to correct errors in the new CCR regulations for inactive surface impoundments at inactive electric utilities and CCR management units.
EPA Denies Alabama CCR Permit Program Application

On May 23, 2024, EPA announced the denial of the application submitted by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management to allow the Alabama CCR permit program to operate in lieu of the federal CCR program.
