Public Notice: Fisher Calo – Five-Year Review Begins
Summary
Sixth Five-Year Review Begins
EPA is conducting a five-year review of the Fisher-Calo site located in Kingsbury Industrial Park, off Hupp Road, in LaPorte County, Indiana. The Superfund law requires regular checkups of sites that have been cleaned up – with waste managed on-site – to make sure the cleanup continues to protect people and the environment. This is the sixth five-year review of this site.
The site was listed on the National Priorities List, or NPL, in September of 1983. The site’s long-term cleanup included the excavating and disposing of buried drums and PCB-contaminated soils, extracting soil vapor, and pumping and treating groundwater. Construction of the remedy took place between 1994 and 1998.
More information is available at the Fisher-Calo EPA webpage. The review is expected to be completed in August 2025.
The five-year review is an opportunity for you to tell EPA about site conditions and any concerns you have.
