About EPA's Quality Program
EPA's Quality Program manages the collection, production, evaluation or use of environmental information. The primary goal of the Quality Program is to ensure that our environmental information are of sufficient quantity and quality to support the intended use. Under the EPA Quality Program, EPA organizations develop and implement supporting quality programs. Similar specifications may also apply to contractors, grantees, and other recipients of financial assistance from EPA.
The EPA Quality Program also provides the framework for planning, implementing, documenting, and assessing work performed by the Agency and for carrying out required quality assurance and quality control activities.
Oversight for EPA’s Quality Program is delegated from the EPA Administrator to the Chief Information Officer and Deputy Assistant Administrator for Information Technology and Information Management in the Office of Mission Support. The Program is further delegated to the Directors of the Office of Enterprise Information Programs and the Enterprise Quality Management Division (EQMD). The EQMD consists of professionals who work in the areas of Policy and Evaluation, Operations and Outreach, and the Information Quality Guidelines process.
