Wet-Formed Fiberglass Mat Production: Risk and Technology Review
EPA is finalizing amendments to the Wet-Formed Fiberglass Mat Manufacturing National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants to enhance the effectiveness of the rule by improving compliance and implementation. While the final rule will not result in further emission reductions, this action will improve monitoring, compliance and implementation of the rule at no cost to industry. EPA’s air toxics rules for wet-formed fiberglass mat manufacturing achieved significant reductions of formaldehyde and methanol from existing curing and bonding ovens across the industry, while ensuring that emissions from new curing and bonding ovens remain low.
