Web Standard: Wide Template
Definitions
The wide template is an option available to Basic Pages in the WebCMS which forces the content on the page to stretch the full-width of the browser window. The wide template strips out the left sidebar, so if you elect to use the wide template on a page in a microsite web area, the page will not have the left sidebar that displays on other pages in the web area. The WebCMS will add a link to the web area homepage at the top left of the wide template page. This will be the only navigation for your users.
Content Requirements
- The wide template may only be used to accommodate specific types of content, but is not required:
- Content embedded in iFrames (for example, StoryMaps, data visualization products, or other applications)
- Maps
- Tables with multiple columns that cannot be easily viewed with the sidebar menu present
- Oversized infographics or images with horizontal layouts
- The wide template is not permitted for purely aesthetic or layout preferences.
