Public Notice: EPA Begins Sixth Five-Year Review of Moss-American Superfund Site
Summary
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is conducting its 6th five-year review of the Moss-American Superfund site, located at 8716 N. Granville Road in Milwaukee. The site is made up of 88 acres of a former wood-treating facility at the intersection of Brown Deer and Granville Roads and a portion of the Little Menomonee River adjacent to the former facility. The Superfund law requires regular checkups of sites that have been cleaned up – with waste managed on-site – to make sure the cleanup continues to protect people and the environment. This review is expected to be completed in December 2024.
