EPA at Work in Detroit and Downriver Communities in MI - Lead
EPA's Lead Abatement Training – EPA provided lead-based paint renovation certification training to 25 contractors, workers and residents who provide renovation or maintenance work for homes, schools or day care centers built before 1978.
EPA hosted a community roundtable with organizers representing Flint and Detroit, Michigan to highlight the experience of these two cities with lead in drinking water. This roundtable discussion is essential to informing EPA’s review of the Lead and Copper Rule revisions to ensure that the rule is grounded in the lived experience of individuals and communities that are most at-risk of exposure to lead in drinking water.
