As the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency pursues its mission to protect human health and the environment, EPA staff practice risk communication every day. Effectively communicating science and potential health risk is one of the most important jobs we have.

EPA is finalizing a series of case studies which will show the SALT Framework in action, highlighting the specific challenges, successses and lessons learned from our risk communication and engagement efforts. Case studies will be added to this section as they are completed.
Flooded Homes
The SALT Framework applied to the Flooded Homes research project enabled the team to conduct research to understand our audience so that we could provide assistance and guidance that was valuable for individuals who had experienced flooding in their homes.
