The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA) goes after pollution problems that impact the American public through vigorous enforcement. Our enforcement activities target the most serious water, air, and chemical hazards. As part of this mission, we work to advance environmental justice by protecting communities most vulnerable to pollution. We are looking for the best and brightest candidates who are passionate about fulfilling the mission of EPA, which is to protect human health and the environment.

OECA Functions and Offices
The Office of Enforcement and Compliance Assurance (OECA) has staff, including criminal investigators, located in Washington DC HQ office and more than 40 field offices across the nation. OECA provides national policy direction and enforcement for all federal environmental statutes which can include civil and criminal actions; actions to compel cleanup; and federal facility enforcement. OECA leads EPA’s enforcement program which aims to address pollution problems that impact American communities by pursuing vigorous civil and criminal enforcement that target entities causing the most serious water, air, and chemical hazards.
