This webinar will examine emerging contaminants, PFAS and PFOA, and discuss what they are including uses, properties, environmental impacts, and potential treatment methods for wastewater and drinking water. The learning objectives of this webinar are to understand the complexity and im-pacts of Emerging Contaminants and UCMR 5 testing requirements. Participants will learn to identify the sources of Emerging Contaminants and how they were developed and subsequently released into the environment. The presenter will also identify potential treatment options for facilities including Activated Carbon, Ion Exchange Resin (IX), Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Nanofiltration (NF), Advanced Oxidation, and Biosolids Removal.

- Jamie Hope started in the wastewater field in November 1984 as a trainee for Gainesville Regional Utilities at the Main Street WWTP. He progressed up the operator’s license ladder within the minimum timeframe. He has also worked in the lift station and maintenance fields. Jamie has received numerous awards and recognition within the wastewater field.
